I would say that if you are restoring your jeep to depot rebuild, then
your engine would be the same color as your vehicle. If you paint it
flat, it will "age" into semi-gloss anyway. just a note on the paint.
If you are going for a ww2 look I suggest Rapco flat o.d. #33070 I used
that on my 1944 MB and the color looks great, plus the paint is very
good to work with. Another plus is that you can get it in spray cans to
match their gallons to do touchup and small parts. Hope this helps.
