Hi Mike, only a couple of hundred chassis apart eh? These vehicles get
about. You should be able to work OK from the ORD 9, as it is the
highest order of parts list. ORD 7 and 8 give the various levels of
organisational spares (per 100 vehicles etc) I would still recommend
buying a 7-8-9 if you find one at a reasonable cost as they list and
illustrate all the on-boards tools and equipment, which I believe is
text-only, if covered at all, in the ORD 9.

I can think of no particular web resources you probably haven't already
found, but making contact with other owners is a must. Steve Greenberg
in Oregon has several and there are about 14 in the Oregon club. Bill
Keen in Harleysville has been keeping a low profile recently but used
to co-ordinate a newsletter (DUKW Tales) plus a vehicle listing (DUKW
Data) copies of which would be of interest. According to the last
DUKW Data your USA number would be 7030963 if the USMC didn't vary the
system.

Possibly the most appropriate thing to say is that the DUKW manuals are
recognized as being some of the best of their type ever written, many
happy hours poring over the manuals and parts list will astand you in
good stead during the restoration. Judging by the CNN coverage of the
US recently it looks like DUKWs may be needed again, or are you in an
area not subject to flooding?

regards, Gordon 8-)
