Terry,

Thanks for the information. I called Portrayal Press this morning and changed
my order to include ORD 7 and ORD 8. Dennis whined a bit, something about the
order already having been packaged, he wasn't sure the extra two manuals
would fit in the box, and it would delay the shipment until tomorrow. His
attitude kind of surprised me, maybe I caught him on a bad day.

Disconnect the air line from the valve stem and insert regular valve cores?
Well, that explains a lot. There are no air hoses going to the valve stems on
any of the tires. The air hubs are there, and the air lines going to the
hubs, but not from the hub to the valve stem. Apparently the hoses have been
removed and valve cores inserted into each wheel at some previous time. No
wonder there was no air escaping from the severed hose I found on the rear
axle air system!

Thanks for the reminder. The previous owner apparently used this DUKW for
dragging or pulling heavy things backwards. The lifting eye on the front deck
is bent forward and the combination hawse fairlead and shackle connection
point on the bow has been completely ripped off. As this DUKW spent 10 years
around a marina at a lake, I suspect it has been used to salvage sunken boats
and yanked a few stuck vehicles out of the mud.

I wish I could help you and the dozen or so other people who have called
asking if I wanted to sell this DUKW. Honestly, I just fell into this deal.
I was driving on a road by a lake that I haven't been on in ten years and
found it parked in this guys front yard. It has been sitting there for 6
years. Other than the folks I've met thru this list and the MVPA meet I went
to a couple of weeks ago, I don't know of any one else who has a DUKW. If I
happen to find another, I'll make sure to post it on this list.

I'm getting a spare windshield assembly in this deal. It appears complete (to
a beginner like me) with both side panels and the vacuum wiper motors (no arms
or blades). The glass is all there, but it's cracked. Boy is it heavy! I
was planning on trading it for other DUKW parts that I need, but if you (or
anybody else) really needs it, I'd be willing to sell it outright. All we
have to do is figure out what it's worth.
