New DUKW screen cost me 200 (UK pounds) used maybe half or a third of
that? Most of the rot goes for the wings which are lighter gauge.

DUKW windscreen lecture follows;

1. Replace 1/2" glass with two sheets of 1/4"
2. Set the glass into sealant unless you are feeling really brave and
want to try the rubber strip (yeuch)
3. Now for the fun bit;
put the screen forward on it's supports, but leave the "wings"
sticking up,
gently lift up one of the wings and move it over the vertical,
then look at the star shaped cracks it has left in the main screen
when it cracked into it.
then go and buy new screen glass (again)

If you didn't like #3, try a spot of weld at the top of each of the
side window hinges to prevent the screens smashing together, when they
are at rest together the loose ends should sit naturally about 1"
apart, then push down that last 1" to put the catch in

Here endeth the windscreen lecture, please dont tell anyone I dont use
my DUKW, it is strictly a shed animal, Gordon 8-)
