Checked my two gas cans and one is a '43 with the USA and QMC and the
other is a '52 with just US. Checked to see if the mfg. was different
but both had 'Bennett' on the bottom. I've seen a '51 and a '55 with
just US. Also, checked two other ones I have with US but, no stamping
on the bottom. Could of been a special order just for the Quartermaster
Corp (if that what the QMC means).
