Hi Matthew,

Welcome to the list. Check through the list archives for info on all types of
MV's by thread (subject). Everyone on the list has thier own favorites. Most
are WWII jeeps. Some are US 21/2 ton trucks. Some are British, such as
Ferrets.

I'm glad you enjoyed the article. Ferrets are not as expensive as you think.
They can be had for about $8,000 - $10,000 delivered. Some restored Ferrets
can be considerably higher. Shop around. US mil Hummers are cut up, and if
avail are about $40,000. Civ Hummers are about $50,000 and up.

You may want to consider a US mil veh such as a CUCV. These are the mil
versions of the 4x4 Blazer and Dodge 1 1/4 ton pick up. You've probably seen
them at your local Nat Guard Armory. They are also fascinating vehs, and can
be purchased reasonably directly from Uncle Sam through the DRMO (see
archives for DRMO thread). They are more practical for general use than a
Ferret. There are people on this list who know alot more about them than I
do.

For more info on Ferrets, you can contact Greg Cash at Milveh@aol.com, or
Mike Held at his new phone number (805) 659-5437. A good source for info on
US and British vehs on the East Coast is Tanks A Lot, TanksAL@aol.com .
The DRMO website for info on gov't sales is http://131.87.1.51/

A good rule of thumb is to keep all corrospondance on the list strictly MV
related, non political, and non personal, etc. Once again welcome.
