Once again the media has distorted facts, or the police spokesperson is
misinformed (or both).

- The Peacekeeper is not a tank, but is a 4x4 armored patrol vehicle. It does
not have tracks. It was built by Cadillac -Gage on the M880 chasis, and used
by the USAF as an airfield security vehicle. Jane's has the vehicle listed as
a Ranger.

- The turret on the veh is for a .30 cal Browning or M60, not a .50 cal.

- It has no gas delivery system

- I've seen pretty much all of the video of the WACO fiasco/disaster. I do
not recall seeing any use of Peacekeepers. The only vehicles that I saw were
tracked Combat Engineering Vehicles (CEV), and M113 APC's.

With this kind of misinformation, I doubt that the city council will approve
the vehicles use. This could lead to future casualties among the Newark cops,
and citizens.
