As a newbie of 7 days, I've been reading the list archives before asking
any obvious or repeat questions. I'm a 6-month owner of what seems to be a
curious hybrid of GPW frame and MB body=8A but more on that when I track dow=
n
serial numbers.
What prompts me to mail now, when I'm only as far as February '97 in the
archives, is the postings about MV insurance premiums around the world.
I live in Ireland, where there's a Vintage & Veteran Car Club, and members
of that can get insurance on their car for under $200 a year. HOWEVER, I
was 'politely' informed that the club don't accept jeeps of any vintage
into their membership.
Which meant I had to get insurance elsewhere and ended up having to pay
*$800* a year for a 4,000km restricted policy. This on top of another $850
for my regular car insurance=8A
Oh, and by the way, gas is about $1.10 per litre.
