For several years during the early 80's, I drove ambulances that were
converted to dual fuel (propane/gas), or straight propane
.
The engines were Chevy 350's. They had plenty of power for code 3 runs, and
hauling a patient with 2-3 rescue personel in the back. This conversion should
power most MV's with no problem.

The only problems that I can remember was that on some hot days, you might
experience vapor lock, and the veh would not start, or would die while
running. This did not happen very often, and I think the newer conversions
have eliminated this problem.
