I recently purchased several WWII MB/GPW engines from a local parts company
who was going to send them to the scrapper the next day. I will be keeping
some of these motors for my own projects but others will be for sale at a
later date. For now I am posting the serial numbers and date information of
about half of these motors for those who find this sort of information useful.

Serial Number Casting Date
Assembly Date
MB 100111 (not for sale) 10-16-41
10-20-41
MB 103833 (nfs) 7-21-41
7-24-41
MB 109414 (shot) 7-3-41
7-10-41
MB 109775 9-24-41 9-26-41
MB 123592 9-5-41
9-9-41
MB 235162 (nfs) 2-4-43
3-2-43
MB 300959 (shot) 8-21-43
9-8-43
MB 325767 11-5-43
11-11-43
CJ2A 11342-B (military block) 4-8-45
8-2-45

GPW *581* (Willys block, nfs) 12-4-41
12-8-41

I don't yet understand how to read the hieroglyphic gibberish that Ford used
for casting and assembly date stampings. If I ever figure it out I will post
all of the GPW information along with of the rest of the MB motors. Those
motors not marked (nfs) or (shot) will be up for sale so if you see a number
or date that closely matches your jeep let me know.
