I think the trailer was the good old M-101 3/4 ton which has been around
since the M-37 days.

In the current issue of Military Vehicles magazine (july/aug cover date)
there is a reprint of a PS article on the M-715. One section points out
that the spare tire and wheel for the 3/4 ton trailer is not the same as the
tire/wheel for the M-715 so "if you're going on a long haul, your CO may
want to authorize you to carry a spare tire and wheel for your trailer."
They suggest cannibalizing one from a 3/4 ton truck which would be an M-37,
the same tire/wheel as the M-101.

Hope this helps,
