What was originally stenciled under the data plates on M38A1s ? I
found some white letters while sanding my dash the other day - I guess the
previous owner did a great job scuffing the dash before he re-painted it
blue !
Also, is there a chemical stripper that will take the original OD
paint off ? I only have a 'handyman' sandblaster that is taking forever to
remove it, and I was looking for a better way to take this thick stuff off.
I am also having the 'weak spring syndrome' on my M38A1 - it must
be normal ! But of course mine is a '54 model, so that might be
contributing some. Replace or re-arch ?
