Joe,

The paint that you got from George Baxter, is that a regular air dry, non=
e
catalyzed paint. IE, you don't add hardener to it?

I'm going to have to do some painting on an M51 dump truck to get the
paint back in shape and was wondering if most MV aftermarket paints are a=
ir
dry - non catalyzed. I've painted cars before with activated paints and
just painted a farm tractor with a standard tractor enamel but added some=

Dupont Dulux hardener (77S) and was really happy with the results. The
paint was rock hard and very high gloss 8 hours after I sprayed it and th=
is
was in 40-50 degree weather. The next weekend I sprayed a machine with t=
he
same paint but without the hardener and it is still not hard 8 days later=
! =

I just added 3/4 of a pint of hardener to the tractor enamel. I've heard=

that using as little as 1/2 pint will do the same thing, but I wanted the=

paint to set up fast in the cool weather so I could use the tractor.

I'd really like to use a hardener with the MV colored paint for the M51
also. =

Dave
