Hello,

I called ATF and spoke to the Portland office and the Import office of ATF in
DC. I have the phone number if you want it. The State Department (left wingers
for sure-I used to be a body guard on embassy duty in the Middle East)
controls and sets the rules of import. I am not a fan of the ATF by the way.
Both ATF offices told me that the freeze is the doing of State.
The concern as far as they understand it, is the re-import of US Made military
vehicles and parts that were either given to other countries or leased as part
of a US Aid package. The law is very clear, that these vehicles or equipment
cannot be re-selled to anyone or any country without the permission of the
State Department.
The freeze only covers US made vehicles, US made parts and vehicles and parts
made using US tech. under lic.
Vehicles from other countries such as the UK, Russia , etc., are fine. I
import vehicles for sale.
ATF is hoping to have clearer guide lines within two weeks.
I hope this helps clear the B.S. Feel free to share this information if it
helps.
