Hello Scott:
Thanks a million for your help and generosity. I am not in a breakneck
hurry; today I will lift the tub off the frame and I have a lot to keep me
busy there and on the frame, straightening hood & fenders, etc. I also still
need to pull the cyl head and remove one broken sparkplug thread, scope out
the engine internals and maybe....dare I say it........crank it over!! I
will call you to chat; I'm including my mailing address below.
I did remove the steering gear/column/wheel in one unit after
disconnecting the pitman arm per someone's suggestion. I'm wondering what
kind of bearing is in the top of the steering column; sintered bronze?? The
steering was somewhat difficult to turn before disassembly and I'm still
wondering if it is worthwhile to make a puller to remove the wheel to replace
upper bearing. Has anyone found this necessary or done this?

Best regards,
