Well Julian that was a nice post but I must mention that I don't like to pay
retail! Believe it or not, I found a 65 Mustang convertable (in a garage)
that I got a friend into for $500. I have a '46CJ2A from a warehouse that
cost me $700 last fall (and its NICE). I suppose there are a couple other
bargains in my garage. The moral? Those that look hard enough and network
nicely will find what they want at their price. Those that want it NOW will
pay retail.

You mentioned that future generations will want this stuff and that will make
the price go higher. Unfortunately the demographics of collectors may blow
that theory up. 20 years ago model T's were the thing to have because all
the 50 year olds wanted to relive their childhood. Today, you cant give a
model T away. Today the hot sellers are 60's muscle cars because all the 50
year olds want to re-live their childhoods. 20 years from now the collector
cars will be Accura NSX and Vipers. The 70 year old muscle car owners will
be trying to dump their 396 Chevelles.

But, who cares? I'm not in this for the bucks. By the same token I just
don't like to be ripped off. Do the same research on this stuff as you do on
your stocks.

PS I already sold my $1000 M715 (12000 orig miles).

Sorry if this is off topic but it could start an interesting thread.
