[MV] American Bosch fuel injection questions

OK fellas just got back from 600 plus mile drive to Ft. Riley to retrieve my
latest toy (M292A2 expansible van). Trip was not 100 percent succesfull
(truck still in Kansas).

I have 4 other trucks with Multifuel engines as well as some gas burners and
one with Cummins power, but I have never encountered this problem before,
hope some of ya'll can help. I will be traveling so won't as much computer
access as usual, so if you email me direct asking for reponse it may take a
while.

Any help ya'll can provide will be appreciated.

When I got to the truck, electric in tank fuel pump ran intermitantly.
Pulled, cleaned, pecked on, and reinstalled it. Now runs fine.

Checked fuel filters. Very clean, in fact, look just like new ones.

Added bottle of "Power Service" diesel fuel treatment to tank.

Bled fuel filters at bottom, then at top.

Motor turns over freely, but doesn't fire at all.

(By the way, the truck has been parked since at least January)

With a shot of ether it will start, but not run. With a gentle mist of ether
near air intake engine runs. No ether, no run.

Truck has American Bosch fuel injecion pump part #10951115 on it.

I removed the Plunger Bore Screw, and found the plunger stuck. I freed it,
turn the motor over with screw out, get fuel pumped out hole. (I had to
repeat this process several times before plunger would not stick.)

Pull injector line. No fuel comes out with engine turning.

I removed timing gear cover, and fuel control lever. clean and free movement
of fuel control lever (although nothing could be seen on it lever was hard to
move). Now lever moves normally. I did insure the sleeve pin is properly
engaging the plunger sleeve. Sprayed plunger sleeve generously with
penetrating oil.

I removed plug over fuel delivery valve, and replaced spring (although I
don't think there was anything wrong with the old one. I did not remove fuel
delivery valve itself (didn't know if I could/should), but with a probe could
rotate outer end of it. I could get any back and forth motion out of it, but
I didn't try too hard, not knowing how delicate this may be. Soaked area in
penetrating oil.

With motor turning, I do get fuel out pump bypass, and out any of these ports
metnioned above that is open, so I believe the transfer pump inside the
injector pump to be working.

But no fuel comes out of the injector head to fuel line.

Any ideas? Keep in mind this work is being done 600 miles from home in
gravel parking lot so I'd rather not change out injection pumps or try to do
internal work on pump.

Thanks for your help,
David Doyle
