Interesting as I just visited Italy about two weeks ago and was surprise
to find that many if not most banks, municipal offices, and some
businesses in Rome, Venice and Milan had fully armed (read full auto
weapons, body armor, etc) guards looking like SWAT team members.
Apparently if you know or are the right people in Italy you can get some
serious protection.
