[MV] Tips: Ferret water bottles, grenades, radio, etc.

The Ferret Mark 2/3 has several round metal straps attached to the interior
wall for crew drinking water. I've found that Coleman makes an insulated
water bottle that sell for around $2.75 (Walmart price) that fits exactly
into one of these hinged straps much like the original. If you've been
having trouble finding the original equipment, this is a very decent
temporary fix. I painted mine to match the exterior green color.

I also found that PVC tube cut to length and with an end cap makes a passable
looking smoke grenade for the 6 front launchers. During the finishing, I
dipped the caps into a tub of fine sand (while still wet) and then painted
back over them for a little more exotic military like finish, looks
impressive and it was the best I could do until the dummy replicas are
available. Some stenciling denoting "Danger - Explosive devices" keeps the
show visitors from pulling and twisting them! lol.

I have the complete Mk 19 radio, (paid $100 found on the web at E-bay.com)!
Took many weeks of watching, but it paid off... tip: Check this place out
for deals on radio equipment and militaria. I also found a full DPM uniform
there. Anyway, back to the radio...this unit mounts behind the gunners seat,
however there must be some sort of box or rack to hold the radio? It would
appear to slide into two tracks provided on a gear box cover. The photos I
have do not give me enough detail to see what this is, so any info here would
be appreciated. Better yet, anyone have a picture or sketch?

Still searching for that army style camping tent... found several GP "small"
tents, but these things are just a bit too pricey at the moment, the ones I
have found are about $750.

Thanks, Jack in Sunny California

PS WOODSON BRIDGE EVENT IS ALMOST SOLD OUT OF CAMPING SPOTS, LAST CHECK
THERE WERE 4 LEFT! STARTED WITH 150!
