The starter switch is easy to clean. Remove the 4 screws from the front
plate, remove plate and gasket, and clean off the contacts and insulation
pieces. reapply gasket and plate and retry. Also check if you have full
voltage to starter by connecting tester to negative ground pole of battery
(first in series) and the + lead of tester to starter.
