Hi all,
I have 4 transfer cases that came with 2 M37's.
They are all cast "1.96-TO-1-RATIO", and have
casting numbers as follows:
1) C-92501, 10-20-59, has a 10 bolt plate, and a
cover on the side the brake is on instead of an
output yoke.
2) C-38831, with a silver tag, AOD ODMS JAN59, JOB
47-575-198, has output yoke on side with the
brake.
3) C-38831, date illegible, has output yoke on
side with the brake.
4) 8557, date illegible, has output yoke on side
with the brake.
The first one is a mystery, what is it for,
possibly a civilian power wagon? Which of the
other 3 would be correct for a '52 M37 USMC, and a
'52 M37 US Army? If anyone knows of a source for
info on identifying these, I would appreciate it.
Also, if anyone needs the two I won't be needing,
I will sell. I have a few other extras I hauled
out of the bed of one of them today. I'll get a
list together if anyone is interested.
TIA,
Lisa
