They are also good to run thru a rectifier and charge battery banks with
them. A friend does that at his remote vacation cabin. You can use 60Hz
transformes on 400 but you have to able to deal with the increased reactive
impedance. Same with motors but then the speed is a problem, they will run
almost 7 times faster, AC motors that is.
