For a day light stop, ask to borrow their Mag Lites...
A Modern cop's (and /or Security Guard) will usually be an in vehicle
rechargeable with a battery cartridge and bright as hell.
A Un Modern (aka Veteran/ long time) cop's will not be rechargeable,
will not work when the button is pressed and if you can unscrew the end cap,
will be filled with donut holes for those emergency, end of shift accident
or traffic duties that crop up. Everyone has seen the Mag Lite commercial
where the truck drives over the Mag Lite and it still lights. Donut Holes in
a Mag Lite are still intact even after several whacks to a perp with the
'Aircraft Grade Aluminum' barrel. But avoid the jelly filled ones if perp
whacking might be in the cards. Ditto Powdered ones, cause the powder gets
on the uniform too easy. Sometimes ya just gotta plan for the unforeseen
and think outside the box.

    Ron (zo)
lasted 3 days, couldn't take the boredom, but bought 3 different
rechargeable, 21 D cell, 9 Million candlepower, 7.3 million degree Kelvin,
liquid Nitrogen cooled, Kryptonite bulbed, Superman killing, paint
scorching, fast food reheating Mag Lites, with the 37 Alpha suspender
option, security guard.
