Subject: Re: [MV] Brake help

Bob,
He is correct. DO NOT PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE BOTTOM. I only push the pedal
2/3 to 3/4 of the travel when bleeding the system.
I'm one of the financially challenged MV'ers, so I have bleed the brakes
manually with a helper pushing the pedal for me.

Here is the sequence I use:
push pedal 2 or three strokes and hold down
bleed the air pack first
open bleeder until pressure vents away then close bleeder and repeat
until no air is expelled ( only fluid.)
then check level in master cylinder and refill.
Move to right rear wheel and repeat.
move to left rear wheel and repeat
move to right intermediate wheel and repeat
move to left intermediate wheel and repeat
move to right front wheel and repeat
last , move to left front wheel and repeat.
( as you bleed the last wheel the pedal should begin to develope pressure
and stop higher with each bleed cycle. You may begin getting some pedal
at any time during the procedure but bleed the entire system as a safe
guard to insure ALL the air has been removed. DO NOIT ALLOW THE MASTER
CYLINDER TO RUN OUT OF FLUID OR YOU'LL HAVE TO START OVER!)

NOTE: DO NOT ALLOW THE PEDAL TO MOVE, HOLD IN THE DOWN POSITION UNTIL THE
BLEEDER YOU ARE WORKING WITH IS CLOSED. THEN RELEASE FOR ANOTHER STROKE.

I hope this helps and to those who already know how to do this please
check to see I haven't left something out.
