hello josh
the length of a M35 engine bay is 45" not spacious but adequate the problem in the
width department, its only 14" from engine center line to the steering shaft which
makes any thing but a inline six almost impossible without relocating the steering
box and shaft. the M56 has the same configuration although i don't have these
measurements i think you will run into the same problems also if you repower the
truck be careful of horsepower too much can destroy the rest of the truck a M35
was only built for a around a 150 h/p engine to much h/p will burn clutches, blow
out transmissions, break drive lines, twist and crack frames, and blow rear axles
i have seen this all to much with civilian trucks
